Now i am walking on the boulevard of broken dreams. When i came to the physics department on 2006 i had a great dream to become a great physicist. I wanted that so much it came to me at immense speed and just passed me. I could not catch it. Now i have turned around and trying to catch it again.
The story is, i was too crazy. I hardly cared about courses and exams and now paying up for that mistake. I realized about that in the middle of my undergraduate studies and then worked on that problem. But could not recover totally. Just fell short of the targeted GPA. So i may even miss the opportunity to get into the Masters program of Theoretical Physics department at University of Dhaka. I really wanted to get into that Department. This year there is a good competition going on there.
So its hard time for me. But i have not prostrated myself with frustration. Because the game is not over yet. Still there are ways to reach my goal or dream whatever you say. Right now i have to do good in the GRE exams. That's the first and most important task now. A good score should fix up my broken dreams quite well.
These twists are the interesting moments of life. These makes life challenging and alive. Remember one thing, if you really want to achieve something in life then don't be crazy, work in a systemic way and try not to go against the system. Accept it and work hard. Cheers!
Update 9/5/2011: I have been accepted in that masters program.

Is there different departments under Physics department, like you mentioned Theoretical Physics?
You're right, it's never too late. One of my best friend never cared about his courses. He had pretty bad position in the early years. Lately he could manage to earn better grades and now he's got a fully funded MS following PhD scholarship in one of the best schools in Canada! So, it's NEVER too late! We may be late to catch the bus, but we never miss the bus!
By the way, are you in MS or Honours, currently?
I've already applied for MS in Canada. Waiting for their response. They're taking too long this time. If the answer is positive then I'll go for MS and definitely apply for a PhD after that. And if I don't get it this time, I'll be applying directly for PhD for the next session.
There are NO appropriate quality jobs in BD, as far as research is concerned. So no future for me in BD except for joining in my department at DU (only if I get the chance!) as a teaching professional.
Thanks!
I know DU is not good for research, but our department (ISRT) is exceptional in that sense. At least I've never seen teachers like we have who is so dedicated to improve the education quality (through change in syllabus and teaching pattern). They are encouraging and helping students to go abroad for higher studies, trying to do some quality research through the projects and thesis, and also to publish them in quality journals. The best thing that our teachers have done is that ISRT is one of the fastest department to complete graduation. A politics free department where every teacher thinks of student welfare. So I feel if I get a chance to serve my department and help improving it, I should dedicate myself. :)
thats great!!! But ours is not like that :(
Theoretical Physics department is good. But Physics dept. .... is not like that at all...
I have just received my honors result . Soon MS admission process will be started.
Hmm.. Theoretical Physics department a only masters program offer kora hoy. eta alada.
Yes! I am also trying like your friend. I hope i will not miss the good bus. :)
Will you apply for PhD ? or for jobs at BD?
ok. Best of luck for that :)
BTW .. DU is not even good for research. Just for teaching as you said...! Even education system also sucks! Its better to pass the rest of the life doing interesting stuffs we like to do .. ;)
I see that you live in Bangladesh!
